Daily Fantasy Heat Check #14: Ja Morant
After spending most of last season sidelined with an elbow ligament injury, Ja Morant hopes to return for a fresh start in a new team.

Statistically, can Ja Morant be the Ja Morant of 2022? He can, with a lot of ifs.
If he can stay healthy, he could. He only played 20 games last season before getting injured. If he can play more games, he can do things for this Blazers team.
If he can manage to stop getting involved in off-court shenanigans, then he probably could. There was never a season without an incident happening to Morant. The weapon brandishing, the laser-pointing, the physical altercations have to stop. If he can focus, he could probably return to form.
If he can jell with the young Portland players, he probably could produce again. A starting lineup featuring Ja, Deni, Clingan, Camara, and Sharpe/Scoot/Dame looks really nice on paper. They could play a bunch of ways and confuse defenses.
If he stops settling for low-percentage jumpers, then he probably could. The best stat days of Ja was when he played team ball with Jaren Jackson Jr, Steven Adams, and Dillon Brooks.
Can he start a redemption arc next season?
For Laki Play Players: NOT! The point-guard logjam in the Blazers roster is too big of an issue. Ja will most likely play fewer minutes. It is better to pick Sharpe or Scoot, or even Jrue for defensive stats.
Traditional Fantasy Players: MID! His off-court issues and injuries could mean a lot of unplayed games, although he may have the fresh start he finally needs to break through his ceiling.
