Jenevieve Wore the Nike Cortez During Manila’s PLUS63 Festival

ICYMI, neo-soul purveyor Jenevieve made her Philippine debut at the annual PLUS63 Festival last Sunday, February 23, 2025. The Miami-born artist returned to Asia following a brief China stint, welcomed by the Filipino thousands in what appeared to be a reflective card-populated fit with the Nike Cortez “Vintage Chlorophyll Suede” on foot.

The fifth act of PLUS63’s roster emerged on the Aseana City Concert Grounds’ stage around seven in the evening, first with Résumé from her 2021 Division mixtape. Before introducing an unreleased single, she continued with Medallion, 2022’s CaNdY LiEs, and Nxwhere from the same 12-track album.

Jenevieve’s one-hour recollection of her discography was anything but vapid. She used up the entire stage, engaged the crowd, motioned her gratitude in Tagalog, and (almost) always accompanied her tracks with lively choreography. With mesmerizing background visuals, she equipped classic Nikes, boasting a “Chlorophyll”-coated suede upper with hints of the brand’s “Light Photo Blue,” “Coconut Milk,” and “Sail” elements.

Nike revamped the original model while maintaining its retro feel through structure and material alterations. The January 2024 pair has “a wider toe area and firmer side panels”—making it an ideal all-day option. The updated Nike Cortez’s re-engineered materials also prevent warping and creasing, embracing Jenevieve’s on-stage movements and energy.
