Where is Trae Young Headed Next?
Trae Young has grown synonymous with adidas, previously committing to a four-year deal in 2018, which was “restructured as part of a contract extension in 2020” but Atlanta Hawks’ All-Star may be venturing toward new horizons. During their opening matchup, he stepped onto the floor in the Air Jordan 39 “Sol,” pouring 30 points and 12 assists and securing the win against the visiting Brooklyn Nets.

News of his possible sneaker-free agency move emerged in early September 2024. Sole Retriever reports the news his final silhouette with the Three-Stripes, the Trae Young 4, scheduled for a late 2024 release or spring 2025. Throughout his tenure with adidas, he has collaborated on several signature pairs, including the Trae Unlimited—a budget model with its second version unveiled earlier this year.
Jordan Brand doesn’t appear to be Young’s sole suitor, as the 26-year-old wore the ANTA Shock Wave Pro 5 “Heterochromia” during the team’s first pre-season practice. He suited up in his third signature adidas basketball shoe for his Media Day obligations, but seemingly chose to wear other pairs during his on-court appearances. Adidas has yet to issue a comment as of writing.
