French theatre director and actor Thomas Jolly will oversee the fluvial parade on the Seine as its artistic director. There will be dancers on every bridge: Paris reportedly hired at least 3,000 artists and dancers for this event, all dressed up in full Parisian costumes.

The fluvial parade will extend for six kilometers, passing along landmarks such as the Louvre and Notre Dame, with the Eiffel Tower in the skyline. The Parade of Nations on the river will be composed of 100 boats carrying an estimated 10,500 athletes.

Flagbearers will arrive at the Trocadero – the esplanade near the Eiffel Tower where the Olympic cauldron will be lit, marking the start of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
