In a surprising turn of events, collegiate basketball standout Emman Galman is set to don the black and gold of the UST Growling Tigers. The former DLSU Green Archer and NCAA prospect brings his versatile scoring and rebounding abilities to España, aiming to make a significant impact for the Tigers in UAAP Season 88.

The move comes after a turbulent stretch in Galman’s career, which saw him commit to CSB before joining Letran but failing to make a return due to personal challenges. In an exclusive interview with ALL-STAR, Galman opened up about the difficulties he faced, particularly the passing of his mother, which left him emotionally and mentally drained.

A Fresh Start in España

After exploring different opportunities, Galman said his decision to join UST came suddenly. “Wala po eh, parang out of nowhere po dun ko naisip pumunta.” Despite the abrupt nature of the decision, he is grateful for how warmly he was welcomed by the coaching staff and teammates in España.

UST, under head coach Pido Jarencio, is working to a return towards title contention and continues to seek players who can contribute immediately. Galman’s offensive prowess, honed during his stints with DLSU and his NCAA commitments, will be a valuable asset for the Final Four returnee.

A Journey Fueled by Love and Loss

Galman’s transfer is more than just about basketball – it’s also about paying tribute to his late mother. Her battle with breast cancer and eventual passing left a void in his life, but it also became a source of inspiration.

Every game Galman plays for UST will carry deeper meaning, as he dedicates his efforts to his mother’s memory and his supportive family. “Opo para sa kanya po and sa family po na patuloy ako sinusuportahan,” he said, filled with resolve.

Ready to Rise

With two years of playing eligibility remaining, Galman is eager to repay the trust UST has shown him by delivering his best on the court.

UST fans, hungry for success after several challenging seasons, can look forward to seeing Galman’s contributions as he brings his unique blend of talent, heart, and determination to the Tigers’ cause.

For Galman, the move to UST isn’t just about reigniting his basketball career – it’s also about honoring his past, embracing his present, and chasing a brighter future.
