AP BREN’s Esports Partner Falcons Wins $7m EWC Championship by a Landslide

AP BREN’s Esports partner, Saudi Arabia’s Falcons, won the grand prize in the recently concluded Esports World Cup, held in Riyadh. Falcons secured the EWC 2024 Club Championship by a landslide, securing 4160 points, more than double the points secured by second-placer Team Liquid, which secured 1820 points.

Falcons will be taking home a lion’s share of $7 million, while Team Liquid will take home $4 million, according to the Esports World Cup website.

A major factor in how Falcons secured the EWC 2024 Club Championship was the number of teams it fielded. Falcons sent 22 teams for 22 events in the EWC, earning more points than any other esports club.

Points are earned depending on the placement a team secures in an event. For example, a first-place finish is equal to 1,000 points, a second-place finish is equal to 600 points, a third-place finish is equal to 350 points, and so on. AP BREN was one of the teams that brought a huge chunk of points for Falcons, finishing second in the MLBB event of the Esports World Cup, securing 600 points for Falcons.

AP BREN will not receive a share of the prize winnings from the EWC 2024 Club Championship as this will go to Falcons, according to AP BREN director Jab Escutin.

Falcons secured two gold medals in the EWC events (Call of Duty: Warzone and Free Fire), two silver medals (MLBB and Apex Legends), and three bronze medals (Dota 2, MLBB Women, and Overwatch 2).

Meanwhile, second-placer Team Liquid secured one silver medal (Dota 2) and four bronze medals (League of Legends, MLBB, Starcarft 2, and Rainbow Six: Siege).
