Rain or Shine Inks Rookies Lemetti, Escandor to Contracts

The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters have signed two of their selections from the 2024 PBA Draft to contracts, the team announced on Friday, July 19.

Rain or Shine inked eighth overall pick Felix Lemetti to a three-year deal while former DLSU Green Archer Francis Escandor, who the team took with the first selection in the second round, was signed to a one-year contract.

Escandor comes in with significant Philippine collegiate basketball experience as he was crucial in helping DLSU secure the UAAP men’s basketball title in 2023 against the UP Fighting Maroons. His hot shooting in game two of the series sparked La Salle’s comeback and paved the way for the school’s first collegiate basketball triumph since 2016.

The 25-year-old Lemetti, a Fil-Swedish product, played NCAA Division I basketball with Farefield, Omaha, and Southern Utah. He then led his team, Fryshuset, in scoring in the Sweden-based league Superettan.

Both players are expected to make their debuts this upcoming PBA season.
