New Stuff for Natlan, Version 5.0

Phlogiston & Nightsoul

Phlogiston and Nightsoul are two new concepts introduced in Version 5.0. Here is one of the main differences between the two:
Phlogiston is an energy to obtain in Natlan, while Nightsoul’s Blessing is a unique state for Natlan characters.

Phlogiston

In the Nation of Pyro, the Pyro power can be found as a unique resource known as Phlogiston. Phlogiston exists in different forms and can be utilized by the locals as a brand-new resource to in movement and combat.

  • Once you indwell a Saurian, you may notice that skills are consuming a separate Phlogiston bar on the right side of your Saurian body.
  • For Natlan characters, a Phlogiston bar also appears above their health bar.
  • In addition, the constant flowing Phlogiston can form a pathway named Spiritways, where Koholasaurus or warriors from People of the Springs can use for fast travels.

There are several ways to replenish your Phlogiston.

  • The simplest method is teleporting to a nearby waypoint, which instantly refuels your Phlogiston to its maximum capacity.
  • Alternatively, you can collect specific local specialties in Natlan, such as gathering Crystal Beetles and Embercore Flowers to obtain Phlogiston Particles during your journey for a quick energy boost.

Nightsoul’s Blessing

Nightsoul’s Blessing is a unique state for characters to increase their mobility and combat abilities. For them, the Elemental Skill is the most convenient way to enter this state, and a Nightsoul bar will show on the left side of the character.

During Nightsoul’s Blessing state, Nightsoul Points and Phlogiston can be consumed to maintain the state in sequence. For example, Kachina and Mualani will firstly consume Nightsoul Points to maintain their special rides during this state, such as Turbo Twirly for Kachina and Sharky Surfboard for Mualani. After the Nightsoul Points deplete, these two characters will switch to consuming Phlogiston to maintain their Nightsoul’s Blessing state.

Nightsoul Transmission & Nightsoul Burst

Nightsoul has more practical uses during exploration and combat. Here we want to explain two new Nightsoul-related mechanism, Nightsoul Transmission and Nightsoul Burst.

Nightsoul Transmission introduces a new, streamlined way to enhance your travel efficiency. By switching to a Natlan character while dashing, swimming, gliding, or performing other movements, you trigger Night Transmission, which activates the next character’s Nightsoul’s Blessing state. For instance, switching to Kinich while gliding will cause him to enter the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, allowing him to extend his grappling hook for a swift swing in mid-air towards his destination.

Nightsoul Burst can be triggered at intervals when Elemental Reactions occur in a team with Natlan characters. This mechanic synergizes with Artifacts and character talents, providing additional buffs that enhance your combat capabilities. When Night Soul Burst occurs, a special effect prompt will appear on the screen. The more Natlan characters in your team, the more frequently Nightsoul Burst will activate.

Cute Saurian and Animal Friends

A unique baby Tepetlisaurus will become your partner at the beginning of Natlan adventure. You can name this adorable companion, embark on adventures together, and uncover the secrets benind this little Saurian friend.

If you pass by some river valleys or stream banks, you might notice groups of lovely Capybaras, lounging in the grass, soaking up the sun and taking a brief nap. There are also Capybaras rolling around on the grass, drawing the attention of curious butterflies.
