SIBOL Eliminated From Asian Games MLBB Gold Hunt by Indonesia

SIBOL’s Golden Run came to a heartbreaking end as the Philippines fell to regional rival Indonesia, 1-2, in the MLBB quarterfinals at the 20th Asian Games on Wednesday in Aichi Sky Expo.

In Game 1, the Philippines and Indonesia traded blows from the opening minutes, with clashes erupting whenever the two squads crossed paths on the map. Their gold leads remained nearly even, with the game deadlocked at 13-13 heading into the 11-minute Lord contest.

Indonesia secured the Lord after Sumarno’s Alice landed a Throne of Ruin on two members of the Filipino side.

SIBOL eventually fell after an 18-minute clash in the top-lane jungle, where Arifudin Putra’s Miya secured a double kill to help Indonesia break through.

Game 2 showcased the Philippines’ fighting spirit as SIBOL immediately regrouped after a tough setback, with Jaypee Dela Cruz’s Atlas erupting for a double kill during the six-minute mid-lane jungle clash to help the team establish a 2,000-gold lead.

SIBOL secured all three Turtle objectives, limiting A. Putra’s Miya’s ability to scale and taking control of the map.

After securing the final Lord, SIBOL launched its base siege. Sanford Vinuya’s Sora initiated the ensuing teamfight with a Flicker-Storm Bind combo that caught three Indonesians, setting up Dave Viana’s Bruno and Karl Nepomuceno’s Suyou for game-winning double kills.

SIBOL fought valiantly in Game 3 but ultimately fell after Alexander Buhe’s Badang caught three Filipino players off guard with a perfectly executed Conceal-Flicker Fist Crack combo, setting up Affan Wahyudi’s Hirara for a double kill during the 16-minute base siege.
