EASL, SBP Join Forces to Launch Youth Basketball Program in PH
The East Asia Super League (EASL) has partnered with the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) to launch EASL Future Champions Philippines, a new youth basketball initiative aimed at developing the country’s next generation of talent.
The program is part of EASL’s broader Future Champions platform, which focuses on identifying and nurturing young basketball players across Asia. With SBP—basketball’s official governing body in the Philippines—on board, the initiative is positioned to make a major impact.
“We’re incredibly excited about this partnership,” said EASL CEO Henry Kerins. “SBP’s leadership and commitment to growing basketball at every level make them the perfect partner to bring this vision to life.”
The program will roll out in two main phases:
- The Grassroots Program, focused on community engagement and developmental training camps.
- The Elite Program, set to launch in March 2026, which targets high-level prospects and provides them with international exposure, elite coaching, and structured long-term development.
According to EASL and SBP, the goal is not just to find future stars, but to change the way youth basketball is developed across Asia.
SBP President Al Panlilio echoed the enthusiasm, saying, “EASL’s vision aligns perfectly with ours. Together, we can help shape a better future for Filipino basketball and beyond.”
