Jared Bahay and JD Cagulangan Pledge Their Allegiance to Nike Philippines

Nike Philippines secures two of the country’s premier guards in Jared Bahay and JD Cagulangan. Once going toe-to-toe on the hardwood, the Ateneo Blue Eagle frontman and the Suwon KT Sonicboom Asian Import look to the Swoosh to supplement their flourishing careers as first-time and resident names of the brand.

Formerly a Three Stripe poster child, Jared Bahay relinquishes his ties with adidas, joining Nike Philippines in his sophomore season. As he, alongside his BEBOB barrage, looks to return to the UAAP Final Four in Season 88, he places his faith in the Swoosh, given the brand’s connection to the university as a main motivator for moving. Bahay previously suited up in the Nike Zoom Freak 4 “Greek Coastline” and the Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Challenge Red All-Star” for Gilas Pilipinas’ U18 squad before signing with adidas come his freshman season.

Fighting-Maroon-turned-KT-Sonicboom guard, Cagulangan has constantly chosen Nike as his weapon of choice since donning the Maroon-and-Forest Green. Now playing professionally overseas, the KBL Rookie of the Year posted averages of 7.3 points, 4.3 assists, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in 28 games with his trusted Nikes on-foot. Noting his extensive tenure with the Swoosh, Sabrina Ionescu’s signature line remains a personal favorite throughout his amateur and professional career.

“I’m just really happy that we signed 2 of the top young guards in the country. I’m looking forward to years of partnership with both of them,” Nike Philippines Marketing Head Mariana Lopa mentions.
