Ondoa Transfers to Lyceum, Set to Strengthen NCAA Roster
Updated
Basketball standout Roger Ondoa has officially transferred to Lyceum of the Philippines University as he continues to build his collegiate career in the NCAA.
Ondoa, known for his versatility as an athletic wingman, previously made headlines with his solid performances for the College of Saint Benilde Blazers, after transferring there from Immaculada Concepcion College in 2023. His growth as a player has been credited in part to his time with the Phenom Championship Clinic, where he honed his skills under expert guidance.
“Dito ko po kasi nakikita na mas malaki ang opportunity ko para mas maipakita ko ang talent ko. Gusto ko din po mag-grow. Sa LPU ko po kasi nakikita na magkakaroon po ako ng more playing time. Maganda din po yung coaching staff nila,” Ondoa said in an exclusive interview.
“Sobrang thankful po ako kasi po on and off the court, may mga natutunan po ako hindi lang sa mga coaches pati na rin sa mga teammates ko. I wish them all the best po,” he said about his time with CSB.
This season, Ondoa will serve a residency year, a standard NCAA requirement for transfer students. Starting NCAA Season 102 next year, he will have two years of eligibility left to contribute to Lyceum’s basketball program.
With a reputation for hustle plays and explosive finishes — including the occasional effective performances — Ondoa is expected to be a key asset for the Pirates as they aim to contend in the upcoming seasons.
Fans of Lyceum and NCAA fans will be watching closely as Ondoa embarks on this new chapter, hoping he can leverage his experience and development to elevate Lyceum’s NCAA aspirations.
