Kurt Nathan Velasquez commits to Perpetual Help
Kurt Nathan Velasquez has officially committed to Perpetual Help, choosing a program that he believes offers both trust and a strong direction for his development as a player.
For Velasquez, the decision came down to the people who believed in him and the opportunity laid out in front of him. He shared that the presence of key coaches in the Perpetual program played a major role in his commitment.
“Ang pangunahing dahilan kung bakit ako nag-commit dito sa Perps ay dahil nandito si Coach Olsen. Siya po ang nagbigay sa akin ng oportunidad at tiwala dito sa Perps. Nandito rin po si Coach Allan, na isa sa mga naging coach ko noon sa Gilas, at si Coach Ryan Betia, na matagal ko na ring kilala.”
His statement reflects how important familiarity, confidence, and guidance were in shaping his decision.
With respected coaches such as Olsen Racela and Ryan Betia in the program, Velasquez sees Perpetual Help as a place where he can continue to grow under coaches who understand his game and believe in his potential.
Velasquez is also training under the developmental eye of Phenom Sports Management.
Aside from the trust shown by the coaching staff, Velasquez also pointed to the direction the school has prepared for him as another key factor in his choice.
“Maganda rin po ang plano nila para sa akin dito sa Perps.”
That sense of purpose appears to have given the young guard added confidence in committing to the Altas.
For an athlete looking to take the next step in his career, having a clear development plan can make all the difference, and Velasquez believes Perpetual Help offers exactly that.
His message was one of gratitude. Velasquez made it clear that he appreciates the opportunity given to him and is ready to make the most of it.
“Thankful at grateful po ako sa kanila dahil binigyan po nila ako ng chance dito.”
With his commitment now official, Velasquez begins a new chapter with Perpetual Help carrying both appreciation and motivation.
Backed by coaches he trusts and a program that has shown belief in him from the start, he now looks ahead to making his mark with the Altas.
