Walk-On to PBA Hopeful: Sean Quitevis Declares for 2025 Draft

Sean Quitevis is officially entering the 2025 PBA Draft.

The former Ateneo co-captain and current MPBL guard confirmed the move through his agent, Marvin Espiritu of Espiritu Manotoc Basketball Management. After years of climbing the ranks — from walk-on to champion, from bench player to leader — Quitevis is ready to make his case at the pro level.

“There’s so much to prove — and that’s the part that fires me up,” Quitevis said in an exclusive statement. “Every rep, every workout, every session with my Better Basketball coaches, S&C’s, and PT’s has been about building toward this moment. My circle, my friends, and my family have had my back the whole way. As a walk-on, nothing is promised. A shot at the dream we grew up chasing has to be taken, earned, and fought for. And that’s exactly what I’m here to do.”

Quitevis’s rise has never followed a straight path. He joined Ateneo as a walk-on, spent early seasons buried in the depth chart, and quietly built his foundation behind the scenes. By UAAP Season 85, he emerged as a key rotation player and team co-captain, helping the Blue Eagles reclaim the title in the finals against defending champion UP. In Season 87, he helped steer a younger team through a tough rebuild, staying grounded in leadership even as the wins didn’t follow.

Earlier this year, he signed with the Ilagan Isabela Cowboys in the MPBL, joining fellow Ateneo alumnus Gab Gomez. While the league provided a new platform, Quitevis never lost sight of the bigger picture — preparing for the pros.

On the court, Quitevis has built a reputation for smart defense, discipline, and hustle. He’s the kind of player who doesn’t need the ball to make an impact. In one of the standout moments of UAAP Season 87, he sealed a narrow win with a clutch steal against ex-teammate Forthsky Padrigao. He shrugged it off postgame, saying, “Just doing my job.”

Now, he’s betting on himself again. Not with hype, but with hard-earned momentum.

Quitevis may not enter the draft as a projected high pick or highlight-machine — but that’s never been his story. His value comes from effort, buy-in, and the quiet confidence of someone who’s been earning everything the hard way.

“A shot at the dream… has to be taken, earned, and fought for,” he said. “And that’s exactly what I’m here to do.”
