UE guard Nico Mulingtapang inks one-year extension with ANTA

Nico Mulingtapang has signed a one-year contract extension with global sportswear brand ANTA, his representation Phenom Sports Management confirmed. The deal ensures continued support for the University of the East guard as he competes in UAAP Season 87 and beyond.

Mulingtapang, who hails from San Antonio, Quezon, has been steadily carving out his place in Philippine collegiate basketball. After making his mark in grassroots tournaments such as the NBTC National Finals, he has transitioned into a bigger role with the UE Red Warriors. Now a key part of the backcourt under coach Chris Gavina, he has been counted on to provide energy, playmaking, and leadership for a squad determined to end a 16-year Final Four drought.

Phenom Sports Management described the extension with ANTA as a reflection of both the player’s growth and the brand’s belief in his potential. “We are proud to announce Nico’s contract extension with ANTA,” Phenom said in a statement.

“This partnership is not only about performance on the court but also about aligning with a young athlete who represents hard work, humility, and the future of Philippine basketball.”

With the renewed backing of ANTA and the trust of his coaches at UE, Nico enters the heart of the UAAP season with momentum. His development remains closely watched, and his ability to balance scoring with orchestrating the Warriors’ offense will be a crucial factor in their campaign.
