UAAP Rookie Profile: Nico Mulingtapang of the UE Red Warriors

The UE Red Warrior admitted he’s excited coming into the UAAP season because of the support he’s getting from fans, especially his kababayans in the Quezon Province. He also talked about the reason behind being ‘number 1’ and his confidence. 

Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself.

Nico: Hi, I’m Nico Mulingtapang from the UE Red Warriors. I’m from Quezon Province, I’m 20 years old, and I’m a point guard.

Q: How tall are you, and what’s your foot size?

Nico: I’m 6 flat and size 11.

Q: And what are your favorite kicks?

Nico: I love Nike, so I like the Kobes.

Q: What’s one word to describe yourself?

Nico: Confident.

Q: What are you most confident in?

Nico: I’m confident that I can help my team and my school.

Q: Outside of basketball, do you have any other hobbies?

Nico: I love sleeping.

Q: Any fun fact or hidden talent you want to share with your fans?

Nico: I can sing a little bit.

Q: What’s your favorite song?

Nico: Any Drake Song.

Q: Let’s dive a little into love talks. What is your ideal first date?

Nico: First date? Normal lunch or dinner.

Q: Do you currently have a girlfriend?

Nico: May nililigawan po.

Q:  What’s your message for her?

Nico: Thank you na and’yan ka lagi para suportahan ako.

Q: Who are your inspirations in life?

Nico: My family. 

Q: What’s your jersey number?

Nico: Number 1.

Q: Any story behind that?

Nico: I feel like number 1 is a dominant number. Like one of one, gano’n.

Q: Back to basketball, who is your GOAT?

Nico: Michael Jordan.

Q: Which UAAP Team are you most excited to go against? 

Nico: Excited naman po ako makalaban lahat.

Q: Apart from yourself, who do you think might win Rookie of the Year?

Nico: Si Veejay Pre from FEU. 

Q: If you’re a pizza topping, what would you be and why?

Nico: Pepperoni, kasi okay ang taste niya.
