Ian Cuajao Weighs Transfer Options, Looks at UAAP, NCAA
Ian Cuajao is set to explore his collegiate options as he weighs a possible transfer ahead of the next college basketball season, with opportunities in both the UAAP and NCAA under consideration.
According to his representation, Anthony Brodett of Phenom Sports Management, Cuajao is open to discussions with programs from both leagues. While no specific schools have been identified at this stage, talks are expected to take place with interested teams from each competition as he evaluates the best situation for his development.
Cuajao recently completed a notable stint with San Sebastian College–Recoletos, where he emerged as one of the brighter young guards in the NCAA.
Despite being part of a rebuilding program, he delivered standout performances during Season 101. His ability to handle the ball, attack off the dribble, and defend allowed him to take on an expanded role early in his collegiate career.
Prior to joining San Sebastian, Cuajao built a strong reputation at the high school and pre-collegiate levels, earning attention for his composure, court awareness, and competitiveness.
Despite exploring external opportunities, Cuajao has not ruled out staying with San Sebastian. He remains open to continuing with the Golden Stags under their new coaching regime, which is still in the process of reshaping the program’s direction following recent changes.
As the offseason unfolds, Cuajao’s decision will likely hinge on fit, role, and long-term development, whether that comes from a fresh start with another collegiate program or continued growth with San Sebastian.
