Elijah Williams commits to CSB Blazers, prioritizes development
Filipino-American guard Elijah Williams, a member of the Gilas Pilipinas youth program, has committed to the CSB Blazers, choosing College of Saint Benilde as the next stop in his basketball journey.
Williams’ commitment was confirmed by his representation, Anthony Brodett of Phenom Sports Management. He will enter college straight out of high school and is scheduled to begin play in NCAA Season 102 in 2026, entering the league with five full years of eligibility.
Since his last international appearances, Williams has continued to physically develop and is now listed at 6-foot-2, adding size and versatility to his game as he transitions to the collegiate level.
Williams, a Pasig native, had the option to pursue other top programs, including the De La Salle Green Archers, but ultimately chose Saint Benilde due to the clearer opportunity for consistent playing time and on-court development. The Blazers’ current direction and emphasis on guard play were key factors in his decision.
Williams brings with him a strong international resume. He previously suited up for the Gilas Pilipinas Youth, competing in the 2023 FIBA U16 Asia Cup cycle, including the SEABA qualifiers, before advancing to the global stage at the 2024 FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup.
During the U16 campaign, Williams emerged as a reliable floor general, known for his passing, decision-making, and perimeter defense.
The dual citizen guard developed primarily in the United States before answering the call to represent the Philippines. That blend of international and US-based training has shaped his composed style of play and adaptability.
At College of Saint Benilde, Williams is expected to develop into a versatile guard who can handle lead responsibilities while also contributing off the ball.
His size, youth national team experience, and long eligibility window make him a key long-term piece for the Blazers as they continue to build toward sustained competitiveness in the NCAA.
He will also compete in the upcoming NBTC tournament with Phenom Bluefure.
