Bonn Daja Commits to DLSU Green Archers
Bonn Daja is staying in green and white.
The De La Salle Zobel standout has committed to the DLSU Green Archers for the collegiate division, according to confirmation relayed by his manager, Anthony Brodett of Phenom Sports Management.
The move keeps one of La Salle’s promising homegrown wing prospects within the school’s basketball pipeline as he prepares for the next stage of his career.
Daja is expected to have five years of eligibility beginning as early as UAAP Season 89, giving the Green Archers a long-term developmental piece in their rotation. His commitment gives DLSU an early hold on a player who had already built a strong reputation in the UAAP high school ranks before injury interrupted his momentum.
The 6-foot-6 shooter last suited up for De La Salle Zobel in the UAAP boys’ basketball tournament, where he emerged as one of the Junior Archers’ most reliable weapons alongside league MVP Kieffer Alas. Across his most visible performances, Daja showed the blend of size, rebounding, finishing, and physicality that made him a player to watch within the La Salle system.
One of his most memorable outings came in January 2025, when he delivered 21 points and 15 rebounds in a gritty overtime win over UP Integrated School. In that same game, he also came up with a crucial basket late, underlining the kind of impact he could make beyond the box score.
His development also extended beyond school basketball, as he was previously included in the Philippines U17 pool for the 2024 FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup, adding national team experience to his resume at a young age.
Still, what looked like a steady upward climb was put on pause when Daja suffered a torn ACL, forcing him to sit out his Grade 12 season. The injury delayed what could have been a key final year in the juniors division and temporarily removed him from the usual recruiting spotlight that surrounds top high school talents heading into college.
Instead of reopening his path elsewhere, Daja, now cleared for action, is remaining with La Salle and focusing on returning to top form, a decision that reflects both stability and long-term trust between player and program. With his future now clarified, the commitment gives him a defined runway toward returning to full competitive shape and eventually competing at the collegiate level in green and white.
His commitment also adds another layer to La Salle’s internal pipeline, which has become increasingly important in their modern UAAP recruiting landscape. Keeping a homegrown prospect in the system through recovery and into his college years is the kind of move the program values, particularly when the player involved still has considerable upside once healthy.
