After six seasons in a TNT uniform, Almond Vosotros is moving on — but not without gratitude and hope for what’s next.
The veteran guard, who became a mainstay in both the traditional 5-on-5 and 3×3 formats for the TNT Tropang Giga, confirmed that he’s been released by the team and is now officially a free agent.
“I got a call from our manager informing me na hindi na ako marerenew,” Vosotros shared in an exclusive interview with me. “He was supposed to tell me in person, but I wasn’t able to come sa Moro. Of course, I felt sad. I just didn’t expect na ngayon matatapos yung stint ko sa TNT — pero no hard feelings naman.”
Vosotros has been part of the TNT system since 2017 and played a key role in the team’s rise in the PBA 3×3 scene, where he emerged as one of the league’s most efficient scorers and steadiest leaders.
“For the past 6 years, TNT has become my home,” he said. “This team helped me grow both as a person and an athlete. I’m beyond grateful and blessed na mapabilang sa TNT. Even my two kids, ages six and seven, grew up with the TNT Family.”
Vosotros, a former UAAP champion with De La Salle and SEA Games gold medalist, says the 3×3 game sharpened him further, especially in high-pressure moments.
“In 3×3, mabilis talaga eh — you need to strategize fast. I think mas nadevelop talaga yung leadership ko sa court.”
While TNT moves in a new direction, Vosotros is focused on staying ready. He isn’t closing doors, and he’s hoping a PBA team sees the value in a veteran guard who knows how to manage games and make smart decisions in crunch time.
“Compared to when I entered the league, I’d say mas calm and relaxed na ako now — especially sa crucial moments,” he said. “If a team needs someone who can make good decisions on the court, yun yung maco-contribute ko.”
Now, he’s looking for that next opportunity — and ready to embrace whatever role a team might ask of him.
“I’m open to exploring options,” Vosotros said. “I just want to keep playing, keep contributing. I know I still have more to offer.”
