TNT Defeats Ginebra in Game 7 to Secure PBA Crown

TNT Tropang Giga added another PBA title to its crowded mantle by outlasting fierce rival Barangay Ginebra in a hard-fought, 7-game series following their victory on Friday, March 28, 87-83, at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.

Despite trailing the Commissioner’s Cup 3-2 following Game 5 and losing Jayson Castro in the semis to a season-ending knee injury, TNT powered through with their championship spirit to make it two finals victories in a row against Ginebra after the former won last conference’s title over the Gin Kings in six games.

This is TNT’s 11th overall championship in the PBA and their Commissioner’s Cup title since 2015. The victory also awarded head coach Chot Reyes his 11th ring in the PBA.
