Phenom Sports Management Adds Young Filipino Prospects
Phenom Sports Management has added another group of young Filipino basketball prospects to its growing stable of athletes.
Dairick Duterte, Eoin Braga, Jhello Lumague, Dominic Sarmiento, Jason Cibull, Mikyle Malabuyoc, Wilmar Oftana, and Daniel Sta. Maria have officially signed with Phenom Sports Management as their agency to represent them, manager Anthony “Brody” Brodett confirmed to ALL-STAR.
The move gives Phenom another notable batch of players at different stages of their basketball journeys, from high school prospects and youth national team pool members to college players already carving out roles in the NCAA, UAAP, and overseas basketball systems.
For Brodett, who has become one of the more visible figures in the country’s player-management and talent-identification space, the signings continue Phenom’s push to guide athletes beyond only their immediate school destinations.
Brodett, the founder of Phenom Championship Clinic and a former NU Bulldogs assistant coach, has helped build Phenom into an agency known for its hands-on approach with young players.
That family-style approach was one of the common themems shared by the players in explaining their decision.
Duterte, one of the biggest breakout names from the 2026 Palarong Pambansa, said he was drawn to the way Phenom takes care of its athletes both inside and outside basketball.
“Nakita ko po kasi na napakaganda ng pag handle ng Phenom sa mga player nila hindi lang sa court off the court din, tsaka kung saan po nagtitiwala si Coach Jasper Magno dun din po ako nagtitiwala,” Duterte said.
Duterte recently committed to the CSB Blazers after helping lead Region IV-A CALABARZON to the secondary boys basketball championship in Palarong Pambansa.
Braga, a 6-foot-8 big man from Dasmariñas, Cavite, also joins Phenom. A former UE standout and Gilas Pilipinas Youth pool member, Braga is expected to have a bright future in the local basketball scene.
“I chose Phenom because I trust Coach Brody’s skills, have a close relationship with him, and believe the program can provide valuable opportunities for my growth,” Braga said.
Lumague gives Phenom another youth national team-linked prospect. The Letran Squires forward represented the Philippines at the youth level and averaged 7.8 points and 3.8 rebounds in the 2025 FIBA U16 Asia Cup. He also averaged 6.5 points and 8.2 rebounds in the 2025 FIBA U16 Asia Cup SEABA Qualifiers.
“Napili ko po ang Phenom kasi po nakita ko po na maraming nagiging successful na player sa Phenom and di po nagpapabaya si Coach Brody kung ano po ang mga kalagayan ng player niya,” Lumague said.
Sarmiento, a 6-foot-8 center who committed to the DLSU Green Archers, gives Phenom a Fil-American frontcourt prospect already connected to one of the country’s most followed collegiate programs.
“I chose Phenom because it feels like a family away from home that wants to get better and better each day,” Sarmiento said.
Cibull, another DLSU recruit, brings a more experienced profile to Phenom’s roster. The 6-foot guard played NCAA Division II basketball at Stanislaus State and is set to join the Green Archers for UAAP Season 89.
He averaged 6.0 points, 1.5 assists, and 1.3 rebounds in 19.7 minutes per game during his 2025-26 season, giving La Salle another mature backcourt option with shooting and decision-making.
“I chose Phenom because I felt Brody really believed in me from day one,” Cibull said. “I could tell he was an honest and genuine person that was going to be straight up with me.”
Malabuyoc adds an international guard profile to the group. The Vancouver native is listed with Simon Fraser University after transferring from Western University, where he averaged 12.4 points, 5.0 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.7 rebounds across 23 games in the 2024-25 season.
“I chose Phenom because, from the very beginning, they made me feel like family,” Malabuyoc said. “I trust that they genuinely have my best interests at heart and will help guide me toward the decisions that are best for my career. More importantly, I believe they will provide me with the support, guidance, and opportunities I need to achieve my goals and become the best version of myself both on and off the court.”
Oftana, a wing from EAC, joins Phenom as a player already tested in the NCAA seniors division. The former San Beda Red Cub and Arellano player moved to EAC, where he has grown into a reliable presence for the Generals.
“I joined Phenom para magkaroon ng magandang opportunity after college,” Oftana said.
Sta. Maria, a 6-foot-4 forward from UST, rounds out the group. The son of former DLSU and PBA big man Adonis Sta. Maria, Daniel previously came through the DLSZ system. He later transferred to the UST Tiger Cubs, continuing the next chapter of his development in the UAAP juniors scene.
“Phenom has treated me as one of their own since day one,” Sta. Maria said. “I’ve seen and I’ve experienced how the coaches are really helping us players develop to our fullest potential and provide so much opportunities for us. I’m truly grateful to be welcomed in this family.”
For Phenom, the signings reflect the type of wide-ranging roster Brodett has continued to assemble: players from Manila, the provinces, Fil-foreign pipelines, youth national teams, NCAA programs, UAAP schools, and overseas basketball systems.
At a time when young Filipino basketball players are navigating increasingly complicated choices involving school fit, eligibility, exposure, development, branding, and post-college pathways, Phenom’s newest group gives the agency another chance to show what its player-first approach can become in practice.
