The Ateneo Blue Eagles added firepower to their talent pool by gaining the commitment of tall and versatile wingman Kymani Ladi, the player confirmed on his social media account on Monday, July 22.
The 6-foot-8 guard and forward last played for Merritt College in the California Community College Athletic Association. During their 2023-2024 campaign, he averaged nearly 15 points a game as the team’s top scorer along with 7.7 boards and 1.9 dimes a contest. He shot 41.8% from the field, 38.1% from long range, and 76% from the foul stripe.

The Vallejo, California native committed to Merritt for the 2020-2021 season but made his debut a season later. He wasn’t part of the line-up in 2023-2023 but made his return for next season and had multiple notable performances.
If Ladi enrolls as a transferee to Ateneo he will have to sit out for residency in UAAP Season 87 before making his debut in 2025.
His arrival helps make up for the departure of Mason Amos, who moved to La Salle.
