Bianca Bustamante is about to take an incredibly pivotal step in her racing career — and she’s doing it on one of motorsport’s most iconic stages.
Next weekend, the 20-year-old Filipino driver will make her GB3 Championship debut at Silverstone Circuit, as the 2025 season kicks off with a three-race showcase alongside the British GT Championship. It’s a big leap for Bustamante, marking her first full season in a mixed-gender grid since her karting days — and her first taste of the UK’s top-tier single-seater category.
“I couldn’t be more excited,” said Bustamante. “We’ve left no stone unturned in preparing for this.”
The GB3 Championship is a critical rung on the ladder between Formula 4 and Formula 3. Bustamante is fresh off two seasons in the all-female F1 Academy series, and her move to GB3 represents not just a shift in competition, but a major technical challenge. She’ll be piloting the brand-new Tatuus MSV GB3-025 — a faster, more powerful machine boasting 35% more downforce than last season’s model, wider tyres for added grip, and DRS (drag reduction system) for the first time.
“This car demands more — physically, mentally, technically,” Bustamante explained. “But I’ve been pushing myself hard to meet that challenge.”
Her prep has been intense. Over recent months, she’s trained at France’s elite 321 Perform facility and tested extensively with Elite Motorsport, her new team, on circuits like Spa-Francorchamps and Silverstone — the very track where she’ll line up for her debut.
Elite Motorsport, a proven name in GB3, is backing Bustamante in what will be one of the most closely watched seasons of her career. Her long-term goal? Climb to Formula 3, and beyond.
Silverstone will host three GB3 races across April 26–27, with qualifying and races streamed live via the official GB3 website and Sky Sports F1. Full schedule and updates can be found at www.gb-3.net.
For Bustamante, it’s all eyes forward.
“This is the biggest season of my life,” she said. “And it all starts at Silverstone.”
