KarlTzy on SRG: “I Don’t Feel Any Pressure Right Now”

Team Liquid Philippines and MLBB esports GOAT KarlTzy is heading to the grand finals of the MSC 2025 at the Esports World Cup after a convincing 3-1 victory over ONIC Indonesia in the semifinals last night.

The win marks the team’s second victory against the Indonesian powerhouse in this tournament. But this time, the script was different. Team Liquid played cleaner, faster, and smarter — a reflection of how much they’ve evolved over the course of MSC.

Sanford Vinuya, Exp Laner for Team Liquid, shared his thoughts on why ONIC Indonesia had a hard time with them.

“I think they were not prepared for our draft because we did something unexpected,” Sanford said, noting their surprise first pick of Cici. “We just played clean and prepared some strategies for them.”

But Team Liquid now has one final hurdle: Selangor Red Giants (SRG) of Malaysia, the defending MSC champions who just came off back-to-back grueling five-game series.

While SRG may be running on fumes, Team Liquid is locking in on what they believe are the difference-makers: chemistry, preparation, and better meta-read.

“I believe it’s all about chemistry and the gameplay,” Sanford said. “It’s really a good addition of Coach Arsy because of the draft. We really did a lot to show more.”

Coach Arsy, the soft-spoken tactician who once led Burmese Ghouls to glory, confirmed they’re not taking anything for granted. “We will review our game from tonight and we will prepare additional strategies. We need to improve for tomorrow,” he said.

For KarlTzy, this tournament represents more than just another trophy. It’s the only one missing from his resume. The M4 world champion and multiple-time MPL winner is just one best-of-five away from completing the elusive triple crown.

“I am very eager, I am very determined,” KarlTzy said. “I just want to win tomorrow. I don’t feel any pressure right now, I just want to win tomorrow.”

It’s also a moment of personal fulfillment. When asked what winning this title would mean, especially with Team Liquid chasing the $7 million Club Championship prize, KarlTzy kept it simple: “When I was watching Team Liquid before, I was already a big fan of them. I’m just really happy that I get to contribute to the organization.”

Meanwhile, ONIC Indonesia will be heading into a battle for third place against their sister team, ONIC Philippines, in what was once a dream finals matchup for ONIC’s vice president for Esports, Coach Yeb.

“We wanted it to be ONIC vs ONIC in the grand finals,” Yeb said. “But now it is ONIC vs ONIC in the battle for third place. Good luck in our match tomorrow, and as the VP, I am still proud that both ONIC teams made it to the semifinals. It’s not that easy.”

For Team Liquid PH, the journey’s not done. A legacy-defining win is within reach—and KarlTzy, calm and locked in, may just be the key.
