After M7, Sanford Wants to Play for 10 More Years

Sanford Vinuya is careful with conclusions. Even when the numbers suggest one.

Since Season 10, he has won four championships across seven seasons. It is an impressive  record that leaves Sanford unimpressed.

“Personally, if you’re going to look at it, I’ve won four out of the seven seasons I’ve played. But I do feel like there’s something more. We can still reach greater heights. I feel like I am just starting my journey, I’m just halfway there,” Sanford told ALL-STAR

Halfway is how he describes it.

“I’m only 19 years old!”

It’s easy to forget that Sanford is relatively young compared to his peers with all the trophies in is cabinet.

“I want my career to last for five to ten more years! I’m only 19 years old!”

Sanford speaks with an awareness of time. In MLBB esports, longevity is often a fantasy.

He talks about the future not as an abstract hope, but as a stretch of seasons he expects to play through.

At this stage, there is little left for him to prove in the conventional sense. Championships have already answered the usual questions. What remains, then, is not validation but motivation.

“I don’t think I’m not chasing anything. I’m always chasing after something. I will always look for a reason to win. That feeling of winning is so inexplicable, the prize pool is just an added bonus.”

Sanford doesn’t sound like a player defending his place at the top. He sounds like someone who doesn’t believe in tops at all, only in motion, in reasons, in the next game that might recreate that feeling one more time.
