PHOTOS: Team Liquid’s Highlights from MPL PH Season 15

Team Liquid Philippines (TLPH) came into MPL Philippines Season 15 with high expectations—and they delivered. Finishing the regular season with a 12-2 record, they not only secured the top seed heading into the playoffs but also established themselves as a strategic powerhouse under the leadership of head coach Rodel “Ar Sy” Cruz.

In this recap of Team Liquid’s performance during the regular season, we also look back on some of the most dramatic, funniest, and iconic moments of Team Liquid shot by ALL-STAR’s MPL photographer Richard Dizon Esguerra.

Making an Early Statement

TLPH wasted no time setting the tone for the season. Their opening series saw them sweep Team Falcons PH in convincing fashion, with Kiel “OHEB” Soriano immediately making his presence felt. His flawless showing on Harith in Game 2—racking up six kills, five assists, and zero deaths—signaled his return to peak form.

They followed that up with another dominant performance, this time against Twisted Minds PH. Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno put on a clinic with a 9/2/9 KDA on Suyou, guiding the team to a second straight 2-0 victory. Early on, it was clear: TLPH were playing like a team on a mission.

Oheb shined brightly during Team Liquid’s matchup against Twisted Minds on Day 3 of Week 1.

On their second day in Week 2, Liquid knew they were facing a tough opponent: Aurora. Sanji, KarlTzy, and Sanford were serious as they entered the stage.

Oheb was fully focused while playing against Aurora.

Aurora dealt Liquid its first loss of the season. Renejay and company taunt them after the game.

Passing the Midway Test

As the regular season wore on, the challenges became tougher. In Week 4, TLPH had to dig deep against a resurgent TNC Pro Team. Though they walked away with a 2-1 win, it was anything but easy. OHEB’s aggressive opener and KarlTzy’s steady hand in the clutch helped them weather the storm and stay unbeaten at the time.

Later, Twisted Minds PH pushed them to the brink. After losing the opening game, TLPH rallied with back-to-back wins to reverse sweep the series and punch their ticket to the playoffs. These tests of composure underscored their resilience and maturity as a squad.

It was also on this day when the Oheb-KarlTzy duo was highlighted.

Serious Mode: KarlTzy was not about to let his former teammate Yawi get a chance to score against Team Liquid in Week 4 of MPL PH Season 15.

Meanwhile, tension was high in Liquid’s dug out. TNC tied the series 1:1.

Team Liquid closed the series 2:1. The boys taunt TNC, particularly their former teammates Yawi and BennyQt.

But it was all good as Yawi and BennyQt hugged their former teammates.

Landmark Win in Week 7 Against ONIC PH

Among the biggest statements TLPH made this season was their mastery over reigning world champions ONIC Philippines, not allowing the Sonics a chance to redeem themselves after a first-round loss to Liquid. In their second meetup, Sanji played a pivotal role on Lou Yi and KarlTzy seized a critical double kill, the team showcased both mechanical brilliance and sharp map control.

Finishing Strong in Week 8 Against Aurora

Their final test came in the form of a much-anticipated showdown with Aurora, with the top seed on the line. TLPH delivered a composed and calculated 2-0 sweep, highlighted by KarlTzy’s monstrous 8-1-10 outing in Game 2. Coach Ar Sy later credited the win to the team’s patience and smart decision-making, particularly during a back-and-forth Game 1.

Not forgetting Aurora’s taunt weeks back, Team Liquid returned the gesture in the final week of the regular season, sweeping the Renejay-led team 2:0.
