‘We’re Not Here to Complain’: Savi Davison on HSH’s Quarterfinals Departure

Falling to the Choco Mucho Flying Titans, the hopes of the PLDT High-Speed Hitters’ (HSH) PVL All-Filipino Conference have diminished, departing in the quarterfinals after two games. Following two five-set spectacles, they exchanged blows in their tightly knit Thursday matchup (25-15, 12-25, 25-23, 21-25, 15-13) before the opposition escaped in the final moments.

Opposite Hitter Savi Davison recollected her squad’s commendable effort post-game. Overall, they held a three-point aggregate but failed to command more sets—as Davison secured 34 of their 101 total markers, leading the match. Placing fourth in the standings heading into the post-season, the odds were unfortunately not in their favor in HSH’s crunchtime defeats.

Parang, no words. It was a long season, and we just got the tough bracket, but we’re not here to complain. We’re here to play. It just boils down to the last couple of points, and they just weren’t in our favor,” Davison addressed the media.

“In the fifth set, my mind went to the errors [that] I had. It’s hard, kasi you’d want to win so bad, pero you have to keep it in the court. Sayang, there’s not much it’s just do-or-die, and unfortunately, we didn’t do. Baka next year,” she added.

Errors riddled the Fil-Canadian spiker in the third and fourth sets, which would have forced a game three. Despite missing out on the next round, Savi Davison and the HSH look to the 2025 Asian Volleyball Confederation Champions League in late April 2025 as a stepping stone to their hopeful success.
