Coach Ynot: Kelra is Like a Son to Me

While combing through hundreds of photos of Fnatic Onic Philippines from MPL-PH Season 14, a recurring scene caught our attention: Coach Tony hugging or kissing Kelra on the head.

Judging by the look of the photos, there was clearly something special between the two boys.

ALL-STAR raided ONIC’s boot camp on November 17 to get a better picture of the kind of relationship between the two boys.

“Sobrang weird ng relationship namin,” began Fnatic ONIC PH head coach Tony Senedrin, aka Coach Ynot.

“Sobrang weird, in a sense that I’m the godfather to his sona nd he’s the godfather to my kid. He’s like my younger brother and a son to me, I’m like his father,” he added.

Coach Ynot and Kelra have been together since Season 7, starting their professional esports career in MLBB in Smart Omega. Since then, they have been inseparable. They have seen each other’s better and worse sides.

“I was there sa mga kalokohan na pinaggagawa niya, I was there nung nakita ko yung growth niya, yung pilit niyang binago yung sarili niya, it came to a point na siya na yung naging mentor ng mga bagong players,” Coach Ynot told ALL-STAR.

“For me, I have so much respect for him kasi alam ko ang pinagdaanan niya, alam ko ang struggles niya,” said Coach Ynot.

According to Coach Ynot, he and Kelra never really talk about their friendship or relationship.

“It’s something that we never really talked about but I think that medyo lumalim na rin yung relationship namin na nakakatuwa. Ako at this point, nakikita ko na yung sarili ko na pagtangda ko, parte pa rin kami ng buhay ng bawat isa.”

Right now, Coach Ynot is determined to support his players at Fnatic ONIC Philippines and help them fulfill their dreams of winning the world championship.

“Makita ko lang talaga silang mag-triumph, masaya na ako,” said Coach Ynot.
