Geo Chiu, once a proud member of the Gilas Pilipinas stable, is now on the other end as its opponent being part of the Taiwan Mustangs who the national team faced as part of its preparations for the upcoming Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
“It’s a huge honor that they accepted the tune-up with us (Mustangs). I’m just really happy we got to help them prepare for the games,” said Chiu
When asked about what his opinion is with the roster that the national team has built in hopes for qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics, Chiu mentioned that they are a complete team from top to bottom.
“They have good centers, good point guards. Even though there’s no Scottie, you can see that they have capable replacements,” the Mustangs stalwart told ALL-STAR Magazine last Monday.
It’s also an interesting note that with the PBA Draft coming up, Chiu shared that he’ll announce soon on what his next move is regarding his young professional career.
“Right now, I just want to finish the Asian Tournament. I can’t say anything yet for now since nothing is certain. Just wait for my decision,” Chiu said laughingly as he ended his statement.
