TapDMV hosts 2024 AT&T WNBA All-Star Viewing Party

(Press Release)

WNBA fans were treated to an action-packed viewing party of the 2024 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game earlier today, which was hosted by Tap Digital Media Ventures Corporation (TapDMV) at Buffalo Wild Wings in Estancia Mall.

Returning for the second consecutive year in the Philippines, the WNBA All-Star viewing party welcomed the women’s basketball community in the Philippines, who were treated to an exciting morning watching the U.S. Women’s National Team taking on the WNBA All-Stars.

The WNBA All-Stars defeated the USA Basketball Women’s National Team, 117-109, on the heels of a lights-out performance from MVP Arike Ogunbowale of the Dallas Wings, who set a new record for most points in a WNBA All-Star Game with 34 points, 3 rebounds, and 7 assists, surpassing Seattle Storm guard Jewell Loyd’s previous record of 31 points set last year. As part of the Friday Night Events of WNBA All-Star Weekend, Allisha Gray of the Atlanta Dream became the first WNBA player in history to win both the Skills Challenge and 3-Point Contest, sweeping last night’s competition to win $115,150 in prize money.

The WNBA All-Star viewing party brought together all kinds of female basketball enthusiasts and talents, including Philippine Women’s National Team representatives such as Afril Bernardino and Jack Animam, as well as 3-on-3 athletes Elaine Etang and Cheska Apag. Several WNBA All-Stars, including superstar rookie Caitlin Clark and four-time WNBA All-Star Napheesa Collier, recorded messages to personally thank the Filipino fans for supporting the league and tuning in to today’s game.

In addition, TapDMV announced their media partnership with the WNBA, which will deliver live WNBA games and programming to fans in the Philippines through TapDMV’s channels across free-to-air (Blast Sports) and pay television (Tap Sports, Premier Sports 1, Premier Sports 2 and Premier Football) as well as TapDMV’s over-the-top streaming service, BlastTV.  BlastTV users will also have access to WNBA programming, including wraparound show “WNBA Weekly” and special programs featuring appearances by current and former WNBA players.

“We’re thrilled to host the 2024 WNBA All-Star viewing party and celebrate the game alongside our passionate women’s basketball community in the Philippines,” said TapDMV Chief Operating Officer Peter Chan Liong. “Showcasing the WNBA is part of our commitment to growing women’s sports, and we’re incredibly proud to now deliver your favorite WNBA teams and players across our channels and platforms on the devices that our fans use the most.”
