Kristaps Porzingis – 16.1 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game, 2.3 assists per game
The Golden State Warriors had a lackluster offseason, considering that they potentially were a legitimate landing spot for big name free agents like LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Instead of those two, they were able to add Georges Niang, whose last game was in 2024 before he injured his foot, and Brandon Williams, a bench player from the Dallas Mavericks.
The mishandling of Jonathan Kuminga’s contract during the midseason was a big factor–the Warriors front office practically kneecapped themselves into an unfavorable situation, which led to a Kuminga (and shooter Buddy Hield) trade to Atlanta for Kristaps Porzingis.
36-year old Jimmy Butler, who is now on his 16th NBA season, is still recovering from that gruesome ACL injury. He is expected to miss the first half of the season, and the Warriors are expecting him to return by Christmas.
Kristaps Porzingis is going to be 30 years old, and will be on his 11th season. He has missed a third of his career games because of his health.
36-year old Draymond Green will be on his 15th season. He was excellent defensively considering his age, and he turned down a huge sum of money to help the Warriors clear some cap space for a potential LeBron or Giannis signing, in futility.
The early season looks pretty rough for Curry and the Warriors. Everyone in the western conference who can compete for a ring has done something this offseason. Will they even make the play-in?
