Harold Alarcon, Sneaker Free Agent? Where is He Headed Next?
Securing his UAAP career-high scoring output with 33 points on 70.6 percent from the field, U.P. Fighting Maroon Harold Alarcon orchestrated a dominating performance down the stretch with the Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Reverse Grinch” on foot. The fourth-year guard-forward is known for his ties to adidas for most of his collegiate career but has relinquished the Three-Stripes in search of a new home.

Previously advertised as adidas’ posterchild alongside DLSU Green Archer Kevin Quiambao, the 22-year-old veteran equipped the brand’s premier challengers until his recent square-off against their Taft rivals where he would don the Nike Kobe 8 Protro “University Red.” While there aren’t any indicators of his sneaker allegiance as of writing, the Swoosh’s Kobe line appears as a front-runner, given his history with Bryant’s signature silhouettes.
“[As of now], wala pa akong commitment sa Nike. Sneaker free-agent pa po ako,” Alarcon tells ALL-STAR Magazine.
With one more season of eligibility, Alarcon enters the transfer portal as another potential star on any sneaker roster. If the opportunity is in the cards, he may revert to adidas once more, or possibly join his Fighting Maroon kin in their respective brands—Terrence Fortea (Nike), Gerry Abadiano (Nike), Francis Lopez (TITAN Management Group), Chicco Briones (PUMA), and Quentin Millora-Brown (PUMA), among others.
