October 25, Friday, 7:30 AM: San Antonio Spurs at Dallas Mavericks

I like how this Mavericks team is constructed, with star-studded talent led by Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. They also added Klay Thompson in free agency, a former long-time Golden State Warrior, 4-time champion, and elite 3-point sharpshooter. Dallas has quality big men who can secure rebounds and protect the paint, though defense has been a question mark for this squad. They will be facing a Spurs team led by Victor Wembanyama, with Chris Paul and Harrison Barnes as his key sidekicks. I don’t see the Spurs winning this matchup and I’m confident the Mavericks will win by double digits.

For context, Dallas is 10-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last 11 Thursday games and is 5-1 straight up (SU) in their last six home games against San Antonio.

Denzeal’s pick: Mavericks -7.5

October 25, Friday, 10:00 AM: Oklahoma City at Denver Nuggets

I love the Thunder in their opener, as they’re a hungry team that just added an efficient role player in Alex Caruso to their roster. The Thunder also match up well with the Nuggets, having gone 3-1 against them last season. For added confidence, Oklahoma City is 7-0 against the spread (ATS) in their last seven road games against Denver.

Sanjay’s pick: Thunder +2.5
