Smart Brings Console Cloud Gaming to Filipino Gamers

Console gaming is becoming more accessible to Filipino gamers as Smart partners with cloud gaming platform Blacknut, allowing subscribers to stream more than 1,000 games directly on their smartphones.

Instead of buying a gaming console or gaming PC, players can launch supported titles instantly through a mobile browser, with gameplay processed on cloud servers and streamed in real time.

A New Way to Play

Cloud gaming works much like streaming movies or TV shows. Rather than downloading large game files or installing apps, players simply connect to the internet and start playing within seconds.

Through Blacknut, Smart and TNT subscribers can access a library of more than 1,000 games, including popular franchises such as NBA 2K, For Honor, Asphalt, Overcooked!, and a wide range of LEGO titles.

Weekly subscriptions start at ₱145, with users able to register using their Smart or TNT mobile number and pay directly through prepaid load.

No Console? No Problem

One of the biggest advantages of cloud gaming is lowering the barrier to entry. Players no longer need expensive gaming hardware or large amounts of storage to enjoy console-quality experiences.

“Cloud gaming removes the biggest barriers to enjoy console-level gaming at your fingertips—expensive hardware, long downloads, and limited storage,” said Lloyd R. Manaloto, Smart FVP and Co-OIC.

“With Blacknut, we’re making high-quality gaming instantly accessible to our millions of subscribers, powered by our award-winning network.”

Built for Fast-Paced Gaming

Because cloud gaming depends on low latency, connection quality plays a major role in gameplay.

Smart said its network is designed to support responsive game streaming and cited Ookla’s Speedtest reports, which recognized the company for the Best Mobile Latency Performance in the Philippines during the first half of 2025, as well as the Best Mobile Video Experience for the second half of the year.

“Our strategic partnership with Blacknut affirms Smart’s commitment to empowering more Filipinos with access to cutting-edge digital experiences and immersive online entertainment that cloud gaming brings,” said Marjorie C. Garrovillo, Smart FVP and Co-OIC.

Blacknut CEO Olivier Avaro added that the partnership will make premium cloud gaming more accessible to Filipino players.

“We’re proud to partner with Smart in making premium, console-level gaming accessible locally, giving players new ways to game and have fun anytime, anywhere.”
