Daily Fantasy Week 20: The Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors find themselves in a purgatory between playoff contention and season obscurity. Do they have enough to make a run for it this season? Meanwhile, the rest of the league carries on with their season goals.

Match 1: The Golden State Warriors vs the Houston Rockets (March 5)

The Golden State Warriors offer very little resistance to foes without Steph Curry (out, will be re-evaluated in 10 days). They will play this week’s games without main players Curry, Jimmy Butler III (out for season), and Kristaps Porzingis. Moses Moody, Gary Payton II, and Seth Curry, key contributors, are also out. The team keeps teetottering on the edge of pushing for the playoffs and just calling it quits this season. Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets are also without key players Amen Thomspon, Jabari Smith Jr., Steven Adams, and Fred VanVleet. Despite that, they are probably going to dominate the Warriors with Durant and Sengun leading the charge.

Suggested Daily Fantasy lineup:

Captain: Kevin Durant

Vice Captain: Alperen Sengun

Key picks: Draymond Green, Brandin Podziemski, Reed Sheppard, Josh Okogie

Match 2: The Detroit Pistons vs the San Antonio Spurs (March 5)

This contest promises to be an exciting one as it features a potential NBA Finals match-up. The Spurs won their previous match-up last week, as Detroit never had a solution to Victor Wembanyama, who scored 21 points and grabbed 21 rebounds. Champagnie, Castle, and Fox had key scoring contributions. Cade Cunningham will have to work extra if they want to stand a chance, and the Detroit bigs Jalen Duren and Isaiah Stewart have to work hard as well to contain Wemby.

Suggested Daily Fantasy lineup:

Captain: Victor Wembanyama

Vice Captain: Cade Cunningham

Key picks: Stephon Castle, De’Aaron Fox, Jalen Duren, Ausar Thompson, Tobias Harris, Devin Vassell

Match 3: The Toronto Raptors vs the Minnesota Timberwolves (March 5)

The Raptors are 5th in the east right now, and if they’re lucky, they could get homecourt advantage come playoffs time. The Timberwolves are 2 games behind the west’s 3rd place Houston Rockets, and have won 7 of their last 10 games. Edwards and Barnes could be in for a nice duel.

Suggested Daily Fantasy lineup:

Captain: Anthony Edwards

Vice Captain: Scottie Barnes

Key picks: Julius Randle, Rudy Gobert, Brandon Ingram, RJ Barrett, Naz Reid

Match 4: The Utah Jazz vs the Milwaukee Bucks (March 7)

Giannis had a -16 plus-minus rating in his first game back with the Bucks which they lost to the Celtics by 27, though it was probably not his fault as Milwaukee has been unraveling for a time now. Tanking Utah is missing a bunch of key players–Markkanen, JJJ, Nurkic, Kessler, and Kevin Love. In all likelihood, Giannis will have a great game and the Bucks have themselves a winnable one.

Suggested Daily Fantasy lineup:

Captain: Giannis Antetokounmpo

Vice Captain: Keyonte George

Key picks: Kyle Filipowski, Ace Bailey, Ousmane Dieng, Bobby Portis
