Alas Men Drop Second Straight Match at Asian Games vs China

Alas Pilipinas Men suffered their second straight loss at the 2026 Asian Games after falling to China in straight sets, 21-25, 20-25, 22-25, in Pool D play on Monday at Park Arena Komaki.

The defeat put the Philippines in a difficult position in its bid to advance to the quarterfinals, with only one pool match remaining.

Alas Men again struggled to limit its errors, committing 28 errors against China. The Philippines committed 23 errors in its straight-set loss to South Korea on Sunday.

Bryan Bagunas led the Philippines with 15 points, coming from 12 attacks and three aces, while Leo Ordiales contributed 11.

Zihua Wen paced China with 10 points as the reigning Asian Games silver medalists improved to 2-0 and secured their place in the quarterfinals.

Alas Men will close out their pool campaign against Chinese Taipei on Tuesday, September 29, at 12 noon (PH time).
