Filipino-American Boogie Ellis signed by Sacramento Kings in NBA

Boogie Ellis, a 23-year-old Filipino-American professional basketball player, was officially signed by the Sacramento Kings in the NBA. The team did not disclose terms of the deal in their press releaase.
Ellis’ Filipino roots trace to his mother, Rowiena Simpson, who comes from Filipino and American descent. He was previously signed to an Exhibit 10 deal by the Kings after going unselected in the 2024 NBA Draft. In five games played in the Las Vegas Summer League, Ellis averaged 11.2 points on 51.2% shooting from the field and 54.5% from 3-point range in just 17.3 minutes per contest.
The native from San Diego, California had a successful run with the USC Trojans in NCAA Division 1 basketball. He averaged 15.4 points on 42.7 FG% and 39.5% 3-point shooting to go with 3.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.2 steals per game in 95 appearances. His final season was his best – 16.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.4 steals per game, earning him All-Pac-12 Second Team honors.
Ellis now has the chance to write the next chapter of his story in the grandest basketball league of the world.
