Two of Ateneo’s brightest young basketball stars, Kymani Ladi and Candice Udal, have officially joined the ANTA family, deepening the sportswear brand’s commitment to empowering the next generation of Filipino athletes.
Ladi, a 6-foot-8 wing from California who is set to debut in the UAAP for Ateneo this season, shared what drew him to ANTA:
“Anta has some really good-looking colorways and their shoes are solid, performance and style wise. When they first came to me, the whole team was so cool and welcoming. They really showed love and were super supportive right from the jump, and they still are to this day. What really made me want to join was the genuine energy they brought and how much they believed in me. It felt more like a partnership than just a deal, and that meant a lot to me.”

Candice Udal, a 5-foot-10 standout from De La Salle Zobel and a key addition to Ateneo’s women’s basketball team, echoed similar sentiments:
“I’m truly excited and thankful to be a part of ANTA. I decided to join ANTA because I believe in their vision and admire how they empower their athletes to be the best while combining performance with style to support athletes at every level.”

ANTA Philippines’ Marketing Director Mikko Abello spoke highly of both athletes and their potential to make an impact both on and off the court.
“Ateneo landed a gem of a recruit in Kymani Ladi. We are very excited to see what he can do in a blue and white jersey this season. Such an amazing and athletic talent with the nicest personality. Very humble and unassuming. Kymani’s parents should be proud of how they raised him and Ateneo found a new addition to their lineup with an impressive amount of both skill and character,” Abello said.

On Udal’s long-standing relationship with the brand, Abello added, “Candice has been with the brand for a couple years now beginning when she was playing for De La Salle Zobel and the Gilas Girls program. We discovered her at SLAM Rising Stars and the rest is history. Candice has a very bright future ahead of her on and off the basketball court. Enrolling in Ateneo will take her that much closer to her dream of becoming a doctor someday.”

Their signing puts Ladi and Udal in talented company. ANTA’s roster in the Philippines already includes studs like James Payosing, Agjanti Miller, Poy Erram, Anton Asistio, and others. Globally, ANTA is worn by NBA stars Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson, known for their signature lines.
With Ladi and Udal now in the fold, ANTA continues to cement its presence in Philippine basketball – supporting athletes not just for what they can do on the court, but for who they are beyond it.
