Coach Sean’s Tough Love Fuels FEU Tamaraws’ Final Four Push
The FEU Tamaraws have clinched their fourth win of Season 87, making the ‘Final Four’ a promising possibility.
Coach Sean Chambers has consistently praised his players’ efforts to secure victories. Before round one concluded, he emphasized that the FEU Tamaraws would return as a ‘problem’ for the rest of the elimination round.
“This is what I felt we’re going to be in the second round. This is the team I expect from us. We’ve been practicing so hard in the last couple of weeks,” Coach Chambers said.
He added, “We’re going to be solid from start to finish. That’s what we were; that’s what I expected. I’m so proud of these guys.”
Coach Chambers has built a close bond with his players, emphasizing that his strictness is a sign of his care and commitment to holding them accountable.
“I’ve been kind of tough on them in practice. I truly love them all like they’re my sons,” he said. “If I love them, it’s my job to hold them accountable and not let them fall short. I’ve been hard on them in practice, but they’re going to love the result from it.”
The FEU Tamaraws roster includes a mix of young talent, led by ROTY race leader Veejay Pre, who has been instrumental for the team. Alongside clutch ace Jorick Bautista and FSA Mohamed Konateh, the Tamaraws are forming a strong identity as the season progresses.
Coach Chambers also highlighted the importance of Cholo Anonuevo to the team. Missing him for a few games in round one was challenging for the Tamaraws, but they learned to adapt and grow.
“Our goal this season was to show progress. We wanted to win more games than last year. Now, we want to get greedy. We want to win 6 or 7 games now,” Coach Chambers shared.
