FEU’s Pre Extends Lead in UAAP ROTY Race, Cracks MVP Top 10
FEU Tamaraws standout Veejay Pre continues to solidify his case as the UAAP Season 87 Rookie of the Year and has now positioned himself among the league’s top 10 MVP contenders.
According to local statistician Johann Medina, who shares his work on X, following a dominant performance in FEU’s recent victory over UE, where he posted 18 points and 8 rebounds, Pre now sits at ninth with 52.91 statistical points (SPs), cracking the top 10 in MVP rankings.
His rapid rise is a testament to his impressive consistency and impact, making him a future icon for the FEU men’s basketball program.
His closest competitor in the Rookie of the Year race, Ateneo’s Jared Bahay, currently holds 49.73 SPs, but with Pre’s recent form, the FEU standout has set a comfortable runway with each player having three games left on their respective schedules.
In the overall MVP race, La Salle’s Kevin Quiambao holds the top spot with 86.82 SPs, followed by Precious Momowei of UE, whose remarkable play has lifted him to second place with 73.46 SPs. Momowei’s defensive prowess and rebounding dominance have been instrumental for UE this season, bringing a unique intensity to the court that has clearly paid dividends in the MVP rankings.

Due to the UAAP rule allowing only one foreign student-athlete (FSA) in the Mythical Five, FEU’s Mo Konateh, despite his high statistical ranking, would be ineligible for a spot if he remains behind Momowei in the standings. UST’S Forth Padrigao, currently sixth, would instead secure a place on the prestigious team.
