ONIC PH Holds Top Spot After MPL PH S18 Week 2

ONIC Philippines showed no signs of slowing down in Week 2, sweeping Twisted Minds before surviving a thrilling best-of-three against Smart Omega to remain atop the MPL Philippines Season 18 standings at Victoria Sports Tower in Quezon City.

The Super Family dropped one game against Omega, but the loss did little to slow their momentum as they remained unbeaten with 4 straight match victories.

Roamer SuperYoshi continued to show his chemistry with ONIC PH, securing two MVP awards across the five games the team played this week.

Supercharged ONIC 
ONIC PH cruised past Twisted Minds with a clean 2-0 sweep, extending its match win streak to three in Friday’s Week 2 action of MPL Philippines Season 18.

In Game 1, Twisted Minds looked poised to take control of the game after building a 1,600-gold lead past the 7-minute mark, but ONIC stayed patient and secured two Turtle objectives to slowly trim down the deficit.

The game remained relatively quiet in the early stages, with the kill score remaining at 1-0 past the 10-minute mark until Sionnn’s Selena landed an Abyssal Arrow on K1NGKONG’s Hirara during the Lord contention.

Although K1NGKONG fell, ONIC still had the momentum after securing a two-for-one trade and taking control of the Lord pit.

Twisted Minds attempted to contest the 16-minute Lord, but the decision proved costly as Kirk’s Belerick landed a Flicker-Wrath of the Dryad combo to set up Savero’s Claude for a crucial double kill.

Savero’s Claude powered ONIC’s offense in the late game, earning him the MVP award after posting a 2-1-6 KDA and 100% kill participation.

ONIC took firm control in Game 2, with SuperYoshi’s Chou executing a brilliant Conceal-Flicker-Way of the Dragon combo to stun Sionnn’s Vexana during the 14-minute base siege.

SuperYoshi put on a show with his Chou, delivering highlight-worthy plays on his way to a 1-1-6 KDA.

ONIC Shuts It Down
ONIC PH denied Smart Omega a reverse sweep with a grueling 2-1 victory, improving to 4-0 in match wins and preserving its perfect record to cap off Week 2.

In Game 1, Smart Omega came out aggressive against ONIC PH, repeatedly invading K1NGKONG’s Suyou jungle to delay his early-game scaling and item progression.

ONIC PH began to snowball after Omega’s Cull failed to pick off SuperYoshi’s Belerick with a Flicker-Way of the Dragon combo during the 6-minute mid-lane clash.

Kirk’s Atlas answered with a counter-engage that resulted in a double kill, allowing ONIC PH to take a favorable 4-for-none trade and establish a 4,000-gold lead.

SuperYoshi’s Belerick and Kirk’s Atlas worked like a well-oiled machine, executing a 10-minute mid-lane inhibitor turret push with a Flicker–Wrath of Dryad and Flicker–Fatal Links combo that caught at least three Omega members.

K1NGKONG’s Suyou went all in on the cleanup, erupting for a double kill to seal Game 1 in just 10 minutes and 30 seconds.

Kirk, playing Atlas, was named Game 1 MVP after posting an impressive 2-1-11 KDA.

ONIC and Omega went toe-to-toe in Game 2, trading blows in a thrilling battle that lasted 20 minutes and 39 seconds.

Smart Omega won the nine-minute Lord battle against ONIC PH after Raizen’s Hirara successfully secured the major objective, while Cull’s Hanabi further shifted the momentum with a triple kill after surviving ONIC’s bottom-lane rundown.

ONIC PH regained control after securing the 16-minute Lord objective behind K1NGKONG’s timely retribution with Suyou, but Omega stayed resilient as ever and managed to defend its base to prolong the game.

The moment of truth came during the 20-minute Lord clash when Kirk’s Belerick failed to land a Flicker-Wrath of the Dryad combo in the mid lane, giving Omega the opening to go all in. Raizen’s Hirara led the charge with a double kill that helped his squad eliminate four ONIC members.

Perkziva’s Mathilda finished with a 2-1-12 KDA with 100% kill participation to help Omega tie the series at 1-1.

In Game 3, ONIC PH ultimately secured the win after SuperYoshi’s Mathilda stunned three Omega members with Circling Eagle during a 12-minute clash in the mid lane, setting up Kirk’s Atlas for another Fatal Links crowd-control play and K1NGKONG’s Paquito to complete a game-winning triple kill.

SuperYoshi earned MVP honors after being a steady presence in ONIC’s frontline, finishing with a 0-2-8 KDA and 100% kill participation.

With the two victories, ONIC PH closed Week 2 with a perfect 4-0 match record, keeping the Super Family at the top of the standings as the league heads into its third week of action.
