Coach Ynot Wants His Firstborn to Inherit This Trait From Kelra

Yesterday, ONIC PH’s Coach Ynot wife gave birth to their firstborn. His wife Dorothy was in the Philippines, while Ynot was in Riyadh, competing with ONIC at the MSC Esports World Cup.

We asked Coach Ynot what went through his mind when he saw his kid for the first time.

The feeling was ineffable.

“Iba eh,” he tells ALL-STAR.

“Iba yung happiness ko. When I saw the baby, nakakalambot. Nakakatuwa. Nakaka-excite.”

He looked like he was on the verge of tears. The usually eloquent Tony Senedrin took long pauses mid-sentence.

“Gusto ko siyang… buhatin. Gusto ko siyang… gusto kong makipagtitigan sa kanya. Iba. Iba talaga. Nakakatuwa talaga.”

Coach Tony has been many things in the MLBB scene. A tactician. A motivator. A father figure. But for years, long before the delivery room, he had already stepped into the shoes of a dad—particularly to one player who changed the course of his career.

“Simula noong nag-coach ako sa MLBB, parang naging tatay na rin ako,” he says. “Looking at the players I’ve handled in the past, especially Kelra, to whom I became a mentor in so many things,” Coach Ynot told ALL-STAR.

“But personally, having a child of your own blood is different. Iba eh. Nakakatuwa talaga.”

The One Trait Coach Ynot Wants His Child to Inherit From Kelra

Since Coach Ynot considers Kelra as his son too, what trait does he want his baby to inherit from his “older brother” Duane?

“It may not seem obvious to most people, but Duane is very protective of those close to him,” said Coach Ynot. The way he says Kelra’s name—Duane, in real life—carries a familiar weight. Not of a coach calling out a player, but of someone recalling a younger brother, a stubborn teen, a son.

“That’s one of the things I like about him. And he doesn’t show it off or tell people about it. He always makes sure people around him are okay.”

It’s the kind of trait that doesn’t show up on livestreams or highlight reels. It’s subtle, invisible even. But it’s there—in the quiet check-ins, in the loyalty he offers to those he calls his own.

It’s unseen. And that’s why it matters. It’s the one trait he hopes his newborn will inherit from Kelra: Being a reliable protector, provider, and a quiet stronghold.

Finally, just like any father, all he wants for his child is to be happy.

“What I want the most is for him to be happy and be able to do what he wants to pursue. And I will always support him,” said Coach Ynot.
