Train Like Alas Pilipinas: Decathlon Hosts Volleyball Clinic, Launches VNL Collection

With volleyball continuing to reach new heights in the Philippines, Decathlon brought fans and aspiring athletes closer to the game through a special clinic led by some of the country’s top volleyball players.

In celebration of the Philippine leg of the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) Week 2, Decathlon hosted a volleyball clinic featuring Alas Pilipinas standouts Niña Ytang and Faith Nisperos, along with former national team middle blocker Ced Domingo. The event gave selected young athletes from across Metro Manila the chance to learn directly from players who have competed at the highest level.

For Domingo, seeing volleyball continue to grow across the country has been one of the sport’s biggest wins.

“I’m really happy that volleyball, both men’s and women’s, is getting the exposure it needs and deserves. A lot of people are becoming sports enthusiasts, which is incredibly beneficial for a person’s physical and mental well-being.”

Ytang, a four-time UAAP Best Middle Blocker and current Alas Pilipinas standout, emphasized how valuable it is for local players to witness elite competition firsthand.

“As an athlete, being able to watch these international players live is the most rewarding experience. You cannot replicate that kind of learning from a screen.”

Meanwhile, Nisperos shared why opportunities like the clinic remain close to her heart.

“Giving back to volleyball has always been one of my life’s missions. Through clinics like this, I get the opportunity to share my knowledge and hopefully inspire them to fall even more in love with the sport.”

“I truly enjoyed coaching because every athlete showed enthusiasm and a genuine desire to learn. Moments like these remind me why I love giving back to the game that has given me so much.”

Alongside the clinic, Decathlon also launched the exclusive VNL x Decathlon Fan Collection, giving Filipino volleyball fans a chance to bring a piece of the tournament home.

The collection includes the official VNL volleyball in Sizes 5, 3, and 1, along with lifestyle shirts, performance arm sleeves, and knee braces inspired by the international competition. The lineup is available exclusively at Decathlon stores in Alabang, Pasig, Pasay, and Cebu.

As the country’s volleyball community continues to grow, initiatives like these offer fans more ways to connect with the sport—whether by learning from national team players or supporting the game beyond the sidelines.
