DLSU Green Archers beat UP again, now on a 9-game win streak

The DLSU Green Archers continue their win streak, locking up on the No. 1 spot in the UAAP Season 87 standings. They defeated their rival UP Fighting Maroons, 77-66 on November 10 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
King Archer Kevin Quiambao led the team to victory with 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. Alongside him are Mike Phillips, who registered 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 1 assist, as well as Josh David with 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists.
Head coach Topex Robinson shared that despite clinching the No. 1 seed, the game was still important, “Even though everybody says it’s a no-bearing game, this doesn’t account to that. Whenever you play UP, it’s going to be important.”
He added that DLSU will continue to strive for greatness as they approach their last game of the elimination rounds against the NU Bulldogs. The game will commence on Wednesday, November 13 at UST.
Although met with a loss, the UP Fighting Maroons gave a good fight and an enjoyable game for UAAP fans. Veteran JD Cagulangan scored 22 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists, while Rookie Jacob Bayla registered 10 points, 3 rebounds, and an assist. Their big man QMB was absent for the match to mourn for his Lolo’s death in the US.
