DLSU’s Quiambao on pace for back-to-back MVP awards

De La Salle Green Archer Kevin Quiambao leads all player in the UAAP men’s basketball tournament MVP race following the conclusion of the first round in the eliminations.

Quiambao, who’s propelled DLSU to a league-leading 6-1 standing, currently has 87.6 statistical points, significantly ahead of UP’s JD Cagulangan who has 77 SPs.

Mike Phillips of La Salle (72.1), Precious Momowei of UE (68.3), and Mo Konateh of FEU (63.6) round off the rest of the top five.

The next five in the list are: UST’s Forth Padrigao (62.4), UST’s Mo Tounkara (60), La Salle’s Josh David (55.9), UST’s Nic Cabañero (55.1), and UP’s Quentin Millora-Brown (54.7).

Ateneo’s Jared Bahay, who has 49.6 SPs, leads all true freshmen in the Rookie of the Year race.

If the season ended today, this would be the Mythical Five: Quiambao, Cagulangan, Phillips, Momowei, and Padrigao.

In the women’s basketball tournament, Ateneo’s Kacey Dela Rosa leads everyone with 90.1 SPs, ahead of UST’s Kent Pastrana (84.7).

In the juniors’ division, Ateneo’s Zane Kallos leads the way with 99.4 SPs.
