FEU, Chambers recruit Miles Macayan

Far Eastern University’s impressive offseason for their men’s basketball program continued as new Tamaraws head coach Sean Chambers successfully recruited transferee Miles Macayan from Sacramento, California, he confirmed to ALL-STAR Magazine.

Macayan is a 6-foot guard who last played for Cal Maritime in the NAIA Tournament. He will undergo a year of residency in 2024 then be eligible for three playing seasons beginning Season 88 next year.

Prior to college he played for Folsom High School where he finished the 2021-2022 season ranked 28th in the state of California by MaxPreps. Macayan was included in his high school athletic honor roll, was named to the First Team all-conference, won multiple best defensive player plums, and was named to the Sacramento Bee 2022 All-Metro Team accolades squad.

His team, the Bulldogs, finished 35-9 during Macayan’s tenure with the team and prevailed in the Sierra Foothill League during his junior and senior campaigns.

Macayan then redshirted in his first season before appearing in six games in his second campaign with Cal Maritime, the same institution where UAAP champion Zavier Lucero came from. Like Lucero, Macayan also developed under the tutelage of Fil-Nation Select.

He will now learn under Chambers, who recently recruited the likes of Jayden Jones, Adam Nakai, Malachi Book, Nicholas Dunque, and Montell Shelton (eligible S88) in recent weeks. FEU also has impressive rookies coming from the high school ranks such as Veejay Pre and Janrey Pasaol to add to an impressive core with the likes of Mo Konateh, Cholo Anonuevo, Jorrick Bautista, Jedrick Daa, and more.
