Leaner Mason Amos says he’s in the best shape of his life
Former Ateneo Blue Eagle and new DLSU Green Archer Mason Amos says he currently feels the best he ever has fitness-wise in his life thanks to La Salle’s mix of training, conditioning, and nutrition.
Amos, who moved to La Salle after spending one season with Ateneo, has dropped his weight from 115 KGs to 100 KGs. His body fat percentage also dropped from 18% to 13%.
This happened because of his dedication to following the program created for him by DLSU’s strength and conditioning coaches Migs Aytona and Gelo Vito while also being mindful of what he eats.
Amos is doing strength training every day and has cut out rice from his diet. His carbohydrates come from vegetables. Protein is weighed and comes from chicken, seafood, and occasional lean beef. Pork has also been cut out of his diet along with sugary snacks.
Amos, who will watch DLSU’s season-opener against NU on Sunday, September 8, at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum, revealed he’s dunking in practices once again.
According to Aytona, one of the main goals for cutting down Amos’ weight is to improve his ability to move laterally on both sides of the floor.
