Former DLSU Green Archers lead guard Evan Nelle is currently in Sacramento, California where he is training with PBA legend Jimmy Alapag in preparation for his pro career beginning with the PBA Draft in July.
Nelle, who helped steer DLSU to the UAAP men’s basketball title last December, is learning from one of the greatest ballers to ever lace up his sneakers in the Philippine hoops scene for the opportunity to become a notable superstar himself one day in Asia’s oldest pro basketball league.

The 26-year-old is expected to stay in the United States until the end of this week. Alapag, who’s now 46-years-old, was employed as an assistant coach for Sacramento’s G-League team, the Stockton Kings, and now works with the NBA franchise as a player development coach.
The 5-foot-11 Nelle could go as high as the first round in the PBA Draft because of his playmaking abilities and leadership traits. Alapag won six PBA titles, two Finals MVPs, and a league MVP award on top of his other notable accolades while playing as a lead point guard in the Philippines for Talk ‘N Text, making him the ideal mentor for the former Green Archer.
