Standout college basketball guard Matthew Rubico confirmed to me that he has left De La Salle University after spending two years as a Green Archer.

Rubico bid his teammates goodbye on Monday, April 14, as he embarks to further his college career at a different university. He is contemplating his options and will finalize his decision soon.

Rubico committed to DLSU in 2023. He sat out Season 86 and was lined up for Season 87 but played sparingly for a stacked La Salle squad. He was set to play a back-up role for Season 88 behind the team’s veteran guards.

“Thankful ako sa La Salle sa opportunity na binigay nila saakin, binigay ni Coach Topex, and ang mga ibang coaches. I wish them all the best,” Rubico said.

Rubico remains a promising 19-year-old point guard. Standing at 5’11”, he previously made his mark in the NCAA juniors division, where he led Lyceum in both scoring and assists during Season 98, averaging 21.9 points and 7.1 assists per game.
